The plan for today was a pool party with Brisbane International Student Ambassadors at Mat’s house. But after the rainy weather Mat suggested a yum-cha lunch at a restaurant in Moorooka. Moorooka can be easily called as the “Little Africa” in Brisbane with its thriving African community. “Oriental Taste” is a small Hong Kong restaurant in Moorooka famous for Yum Cha. Yum cha is an Asian/Chinese dining experience which involves drinking Chinese tea and eating dim sum dishes [ref]. (But today’s yum cha didn’t involve any Chinese tea.)

It was around 1.45pm when I reached the place. Elsa, Kyoko, Mat and Guillaume came around 2, and we started looking through the menus.

I had no idea of anything on the menu, so I let the others to order. And it was so quick they started serving within minutes.

It’s just great food in a nice atmosphere. For the fresh and tasty food for this cheap price, this is a restaurant I’m sure to try again.
